In the centre of Port Talbot lies this statue celebrating the proud history of the steel making town.
Dark news has emerged this week however as the UK's largest steel production plant has been put up for sale by it's foreign owners Tata Steel as it is losing £1 million a day.
As buyers are sought to purchase Tata Steel's loss making UK operation, the future of over 15,000 jobs are at risk, 4,100 of those are located at Port Talbot which would have a devastating on the local economy through the plants suppliers & contractors.

Business End of the Season

Derek Mowbray led the 'Work' section of the newly re-structured Business Breakfast event from the All Golds on the 25th July 2014. The next event will take place at Oxstalls on September 12th.
Josh Williams makes a spectacular break to score a wonderful individual try, during the first half of the curtain raiser which saw the All Golds 16-0 up. The Scorpions were able to battle back during the second half however, coming out 38-32  victors in Maesteg. Match Report
Steve Parry begins to celebrate after crossing over to score against his former side, contributing to the 28-16 victory for the All Golds in Maesteg, securing a third win against the South Wales oufit &  re-igniting their playoff dreams as the end of the season draws closer. Match Report

All Golds v Scorpions

Head Coach Brad Hepi oversees the All Golds as they warm up for their first home match of the season against the South Wales Scorpions.
Temperatures hit 17 degrees in Cheltenham, perfect for an afternoon out watching the rugby.
Club captain Mike Stewart is still out with an injury, and is seen advising James Tutuila, who endured a rough game, playing against his former team for the first time since his move to the All Golds in November.
Lionel Hurst, you won't find a better dressed ball boy anywhere else!
The Scorpions attempted a late surge to catch the All Golds, but are stopped on the try line, loosing the match 29-17.
After contributing two tries in the second half to secure the victory, Danny Thomas is interviewed by Danielle Meredith.
