Cheltenham Race Festival

Haven't posted a new blog post for ages because of uni work but now that's over let's head back to March and revisit the Cheltenham Race Festival, Being AP McCoy's last year completing for the Gold Cup I was disappointed not to shoot as much as I did last year but enjoyed all of the hype that surrounds this event annually.

Tour of Britain

Thousands of people lined the route of Stage 4 from Worcester to Bristol, here along Harp Hill the crowd were joined by local school classes to cheer along the 2014 Tour of Britain.
Rolling road closures using Police bikes were used as part of the logistics to deliver this race.
The leaders of the Tour of Britain round the curve onto Harp Hill.
The following Peleton round the curve onto Harp Hill.
The Peleton runs wide onto Harp Hill.
Sir Bradley Wiggins' success is a large reason for the rising popularity in British Cycling, Winner of the Tour de France & many Olympic medals I did hope for a better shot of him but here is Team Sky's 'Wiggo' turning onto Harp Hill.

A number of riders ran wide due to the large size of the Peleton filtering into this sharp curve as seen in my iPhone video.
The crowds do not filter out as the Peleton heads up Harp Hill.
In hot pursuit of the Peleton are the support vehicles including the Great British team as well Team Sky.
Sir Dave Brailsford's Team Sky support vehicle turns onto Harp Hill.
On the walk back home I passed the site of Banksy's Phonebox artwork, which has been boarded up since my last visit due to vandalism, which has also been attacked.

Has Banksy hit Cheltenham?

Crowds & media gather around a phonebox on Hewlett Road to see for themselves what artwork has appeared outside a house overnight.
The artwork, located threes miles away from GCHQ in Cheltenham, depicts agents listening in on the phonecalls, allowing some new 'profile picture' oppertunities!
Whilst it has still not been claimed by Banksy himself, the artwork has been confirmed by many experts & critics due to it's style and the characters involved.

I decided to head down and see the work for myself, using my Pentax SLR and some colour film that I needed to use up!
Located on the corner of Fairview Road & Hewlett Road, it has attracted many visitors and admirers of Banksy's work, with some even flying in from France!
