Pongathon

Pongthong, a weekly ping pong event featuring singles & doubles league, pongbot challenge & free social play was launched on Friday! Set to the rhythm of great music, join in the fun every week in the Students Union at Oxstalls Campus.

For those looking for a good time and not just compete, there are two social tables to play between friends.

Even the All Golds got involved, with James Tutuila taking on the Pongbot, but only scoring 4!

With exclusive deals offered at the busy bar, students can enjoy the tournament and a drink with their friends!

An upbeat atmosphere was creating through good music that provide a 'beat to pong too!'

A good turnout of over 100 students ensured competition & energetic support within the singles & doubles tournaments, showing and engaging bar culture within this sport.

Gloucestershire Pongathon

Coming soon to the University of Gloucestershire Students Union bar at Oxstalls is a weekly Table Event named 'Pongathon University Challenge '. A taster session at Park Campus was provided by Adrian Leigh (right) from Pongathon to train activators and share ideas with Universal Sport Co-Ordinator Gary McLean (left).

The two winners doubles tournament celebrate, winning in the straight knock out format consisting of 10 players, 5 teams. The contest will allow for teams of 2 to 4 players to compete against each other on a weekly basis at University level, whilst also being compared to teams from other universities! 

No Limits

After covering UNIversal Sport's 5 a-side session, I was asked by Jake to provide some photographs for his No Limits sports club at Oxstalls Campus, It was great to see everybody having fun, and to see All Golds second row James Tutuila getting involved! Pongathon 7/2/13

An interesting event hosted on Park Campus, a Table Tennis competition was in place among 'Prize Pong' where players could earn some sweets and t-shirts, I'm also led to believe Beer Pong was available in the Bar for those not interested in sweets.
